Today’s children are surrounded by screens of all sizes from smart phones and computers to video game systems and tablets. As technology rapidly progresses, so does the addiction to it that kids have. Whether it’s browsing the internet for hours on end, constantly scrolling through social media feeds, or getting lost in hours of video gaming, kids today have become increasingly dependent on technology for entertainment and communication.
This is bad for kids :
The prevalence of technology in kids’ lives has caused many detrimental effects, from damaging social skills to diminished physical health. Because of technology’s ability to bring instantaneous gratification, children can quickly become bored and move from one activity to the next without really giving it a chance, making them prone to distractibility and lacking in concentration. It also causes an overall decline in physical activity as kids spend most of their time in a seated or inactive state. Furthermore, technology has an immense impact on children’s socialization, as it’s replacing traditional in-person conversations and is disrupting social norms and courtesy. Overall, this constant bombardment of technology can be highly damaging for kids, as it can stunt their development, physical, mental and social.
