Can you survive a day without electricity?

Internet

When you want to spend a single day without electricity, you will need to arm yourself with board games, books, crayons, blankets and imagination.

Some time ago, we knew how to live without electricity. The first washing machine, which made household chores much easier, came on the market in 1953, as did the television. And since then, we can no longer imagine life without electricity and household appliances. Sometimes we are forced to go without electricity for a day or several days due to weather inconveniences. Only then do we fully realize how dependent we are on electricity and how helpless we are without it. Such days are also a good opportunity to test our scouting skills and try to manage without electricity.

Have you ever set yourself an interesting challenge – to spend a day without electricity? The purpose of such a day is to find ways to avoid unnecessary consumption of electricity and how to spend a day without electrical devices. As a result, you reduce your electricity consumption and spend a fun day with family members and friends.

Morning camping

Instead of a glass-ceramic plate, you can make your morning coffee or tea on a gas heater that you use while camping. If you have a bread oven, bake delicious bread right in the oven, which will keep you warm throughout the day. Instead of listening to the radio, try singing, and switch off the computer for board games and reading books. In the evening, enjoy spending time by candlelight, tell each other fairy tales and go back to the past, when winter evenings were really long and romantic.

Windows and blinds in summer, blankets and warm clothes in winter

Organize your summer day without electricity in such a way that you do most of the daily chores until the peak of the day’s heat, and then indulge yourself in undisturbed reading a good book and relaxing in the shade in the garden. No annoying emails, text messages and music noise. If you are going to “switch off” in winter, arm yourself with warm blankets and woolen clothes, or think about a lot of movement. Exercising will warm you up a lot.

Get ready for a “crazy” day

Once you’ve determined which day you’re going to “stick it out,” make an action plan. Empty the freezer and buy food that does not require cold storage. Cook on a gas stove, and invite your friends over for a “special” visit a few days in advance. With a regular letter, of course.
