Have you ever wondered why you are unhappy?

People often think that certain habits will benefit us and make us happy, but the opposite happens. When we are unhappy and dissatisfied with our life, we must first find out the cause of our unwellness, only then can we take action.

1. There can be too much of a good thing.
He believes that even good things can sometimes be too much. For example, you start certain healthy habits with the best of intentions, but the whole thing can also go beyond healthy limits. Behavior that was perfectly healthy and well-intentioned at the beginning can at a certain point become dangerous and unhealthy. Obsessing over diet or exercise, for example, certainly doesn’t bring anything good. It’s perfectly fine if you sometimes eat something unhealthy or skip a workout. Don’t let feelings of shame, self-anger, anxiety and judgment overwhelm your life.

Happiness means that we know how to find a healthy balance – in all areas. Oscar Wilde said: “Temperance in all matters, even in moderation.”

People develop different habits at a young age. By constantly repeating certain habits and behavioral patterns, they become deeply imprinted on us. Regardless of whether certain habits are good or bad (this could be debated at length), certain habits definitely have a more positive impact on our health, well-being and happiness than others.

2. You persist in relationships that do not make you happy.
Your values, morals and beliefs are changing all the time and they are certainly different now than they were 10 years ago. Are you still trying to be the same person you were 25 years ago, do you still have the same people around you? Could it be that many of your habits are no longer in harmony with your values? What are your interpersonal relationships like?

Who we hang out with has a huge impact on what kind of person we are and what kind of person we become. For example, if you want to live a healthier life, it might be better to join a local running club than to spend all evenings drinking beer and fruitless debates.

If you notice that certain relationships have a negative effect on you or your life, it’s time to consider whether you actually want to stay in them. It’s perfectly okay to admit that you’ve changed and that a certain relationship isn’t in line with who you are and who you want to become.

Don’t be afraid to go out and meet new people! It’s important to be you all the time. And one more thing: You don’t have to account to anyone for your decisions.

3. Resistance to change.
People are sometimes numb to change with all four. But the fact is that we cannot avoid them. Although we think we’re safe in a job that doesn’t make us happy or in a relationship that drains us, that’s not true. We have to accept change, because it always brings with it new opportunities.

It is also important to realize that we can change certain things, but unfortunately some cannot.

We have to learn to simply accept those things that we cannot change – that is, to relax and not deal with them excessively. So, accept the things you can’t change and change the things you can. After all, you are the one who directs your life.

4. You buy things that you just think will make you happy.
People who are genuinely happy and satisfied with themselves and their lives know that they do not need any additional goods for their happiness, because they realize that these do not bring true joy and happiness in the long run.

You may think that a bigger and more modern television will make you happier. For the first few days after the purchase you may be very excited, but eventually this feeling will fade and the feeling of lack and dissatisfaction will settle in you again. If we seek happiness in material goods, we will never be fully satisfied, no matter what we buy. Start changing your life for the better: change your thoughts, change your behavior patterns, make room for new paths and open your mind and life to new possibilities and opportunities.
