Do you have your own blog? Start making money with it.

Internet

Working from home is the desire of many travelers who would like to travel the world for most of the year and work from a computer. Who wouldn’t want to earn from writing about things they love? Today, more and more people have their own blog. They express themselves and communicate through them. Can you turn this into part of your income?

Myth or truth?

The fact is that it is possible to make money blogging. But these earnings are usually small. Only the best succeed in being able to quit their job and make a living doing it alone. For the other 99%, it means a supplement to the regular salary, which requires a lot of work.

All the best bloggers started from scratch. You will have to write for free for quite some time, post regularly (at least twice a week) and be active on social networks. So it’s free work. But once you build your blog and have some traffic (more than 200 per day), you can start using it to your advantage.

Advertising

The easiest form of earning is advertising. You can use Google AdSense for this, because for Slovenian advertisers you have to have a well-visited blog before they agree to cooperate. Earnings here are more modest, it all depends on your activity and blog traffic.

Affiliate links

Ah yes, that famous word that no one is sure what it really means. This basically means that you have an ad on your page and when a reader of your blog clicks on that ad and then buys something, you get a portion of the commission. Again, it’s more modest earnings, but the euros are still piling up.

Donated products

If your blog is dedicated to beauty and cosmetics, you can receive free promotional packages. If you blog about books, for example, you can get review copies. It’s not about the money, but if you’re successful, you can still get free products. And who could resist that?

A blog as a supplement to a regular salary

Earning from blogging is therefore possible, BUT we are not talking about fabulous sums. If you are really good and have a lot of visitors, you can get another hundred or two hundred euros. It’s not much, but it helps you pay a bill. Therefore, only dedicate yourself to blogging if it really makes you happy.

You can find a lot of promises online that tell you that you can turn blogging into your full-time job. Unfortunately, that won’t hold. Some do succeed, but after years of giving up and working for free. And this is mostly about English blogs. You can write in English yourself, but you have to be aware that there is more competition here.

A blog as a great addition to a resume

But don’t let that stop you from starting your own blog. If you enjoy it, the two hundred euros you earn in addition to your regular salary will also come in handy. It’s not bad to get paid for a job you love, even if it won’t buy you a house. Not to mention it’s a reference you can put on your resume.
