FACES OF HOMELESSNESS

“You stay on the road when you least expect it. You stay

no money, no parents, no apartment, no partner… It’s not nice. You sleep under

by the bridge, you eat expired sandwiches, you beg for them

money in front of shops. You are tired in the evening, you need rest.

But unfortunately you can only find it on a bench, under a bridge, on cold concrete

the ground. There is no remote, no couch, no mother to comfort you.

We get off track for various reasons, either because of alcohol,

drugs, violence or crime… But homelessness sometimes

it also means resisting society, friends, parents. Even if you have

room in your parents’ house and you are estranged or live in a rental, se

you quarrel with the owners, you don’t have a real home. This is not real life.

A ‘bum’ is not always a person sleeping on the street, that word can have

many different meanings. It’s definitely not something you should

shamed. At most, there is something that should encourage us to

we trust someone, we find a person who cares about us. We always do

who finds Someone who will pat you, take you under the shoulder, buy you

sandwich, done a favor. Even if it’s a liter of wine, we have it

your problems. Good people make our day. They help either way

otherwise, the hand that holds you under the shoulder is important. Even if you are

drunkard, drug addict. Friends, relatives, society are important.

For someone to offer you support when you need it most. This is true

 worth a lot.

Drugs, parties,

great, great. As long as it is. Soon it will be gone. You find that your own

your relatives don’t want to talk to you, they throw you on the street, you

they give up everything you had until then. The feeling is terrible, something

the worst in the world. Friends are made on the road, but it’s not the same.

They have their own problems, they are not real friends. On Sundays, you occupy the

park, you take a nap on a bench, you get robbed. In addition to the other, you remain

minus all the property you still have. Beware of this, it’s really bad,

literally. Do not give in to the temptation that would lead you to the street.

It’s not worth it. Protect your life, it’s worth it. It is in Ljubljana

overnight stays very poorly organized, we only have a few containers,

those constructions in which bunk beds are built. Become homeless

they squeeze like sardines, they stink of stale sweat, urine, alcohol.

Such a stay is a stay that offers nothing, nothing personal.

You have one shower and one toilet on the hill. Usually even the toilet

there is no paper. But a homeless person has to make do with many things.

He takes refuge under a bridge, in a garage, a basement. He is kicked out by the police and

they write him a high sentence, which he will never be able to do anyway

 to pay.

It is a bare life that homeless people have to live on

the road. It’s not worth a person, don’t let anyone do that. Nurture

yourself, find your loved ones, try to keep your basic humanity

dignity, take care of the basics. Believe that it will

found a way. For everyone, one way or another. Believe me it will. This

is important. Humans are social creatures, we need company,

support. You will always find her somewhere. we must love each other

we have to work together, it’s essential!
